Universiti Teknologi Malaysia International Degree Programme (UTM-IDP) is a Bachelor Degree Programme offered by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) for Malaysian and international students. The programme provides opportunities for the students to experience a world class teaching and learning environment.
As a leading Entrepreneurial Research University in Engineering, Science and Technology, UTM provides qualified and experienced academic staff and excellent facilities to create a conducive learning environment. IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. Students who do not meet the English language proficiency standards or requirements are required to attend:

- Intensive English Programme (IEP) conducted by the UTM Language Academy and obtain a minimum score in MUET / IELTS / TOEFL / Pearson Test of English / Cambridge English Qualification, OR
- Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) conducted by the ELS Language Centre and complete Level 108.
OTHER EXEMPTION FOR UNDERGRADUATE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT:
1. Candidates from International Schools, A-level and International Baccalaureate qualifications are exempted from the UTM English language requirement and Bridging Programme.
2. Candidates from UTM Foundation or other Foundation programme in Malaysia are exempted from the UTM English language requirement and Bridging Programme.

Entry Requirements by Country
The Bridging programme(previously known as Faculty Foundation) for international undergraduates was first introduced by the University in 2007. The programme is offered in full-time mode, with a maximum of two semesters.
The programme aims to prepare students with a sound basis for progression to the undergraduate degree programmes at UTM by ensuring that they possess the necessary knowledge, values, skills and competencies.
Students are encouraged to reflect on their learning, and to be increasingly self-motivated and self-critical, with assignments and examinations becoming progressively more challenging and demanding throughout the course.
Some International students are required to pass the Bridging Programme before they can register into their respective Faculty for their Degree Programme.

Fulltime
6. How long is the duration of the study?
For local students the duration is generally 4 years (8 Semesters). International students are required to spend an additional 1 semester (max : 2 semesters) on Faculty Foundation/Bridging Programme and another 4 years (8 semesters) on degree programme.
7. Are students under UTM-IDP programme eligible to apply for credit exemption?

The programme is awarded by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
9. Who is the owner of UTM-IDP programme, UTM or UTMSPACE?
The programme owner of the programme is UTM. UTMSPACE will manage the management part and UTM will manage the academic part of the programme.
10. Am I eligible to apply into this programme? What is the entry requirement?
The programmes are open to both Malaysian and international candidates that fulfils the entry requirements.
11. Where is the campus for UTM-IDP programmes?
Most of all UTM-IDP programmes are all located at UTM Johor Bahru campus except for Bachelor of Science (Industrial Design) and the degree programmes that are offered by MJIIT which are located at UTM City Campus Kuala Lumpur.
12. Will the acommodation be provided for UTM-IDP students?
Accommodation is available for UTM-IDP students, charged by rate depending on the room type.
13. Can UTM-IDP students change their programme to the mainstream programme?
No, due to different admission and tuition fees.
14. Are UTM-IDP students eligible to get financial assistance?
Financial assistance are only provided for local students
15. Which institutions will be providing the financial assistance for this programme?

PTPTN loan is based on IPTA rate. (Not up to 100% loan)

19. Do I need a pin number to apply?
UTM-IDP application doesn’t need a pin number because it is an online direct application withour going through UPU.
